Here’s why every web project should start with a paid discovery phase:
1) It is a small project that establishes trust with the customer.
2) You might find a huge surprise waiting for you if you don’t.
The client needs a Drupal to WordPress migration. They say there are only 35 pages on the site. I give them a bid range based on that information and a standard hosting environment.
We start the discovery phase. Turns out they have 400 pages of content and the host environment is “second generation” meaning its massively complex.
I’ll spare you the details but dev time doubled.
Your time and expertise are valuable.
